John D. "Johnny" Brown, Jr., age 72, passed away on June 23, 2025, in Hot Springs.   He was born in Malvern, Arkansas on February 19, 1953, to the late John D. Brown and Geraldine Denham Brown.

Johnny, known to many as J.B., met his soulmate, Lilian, over 50 years ago, and they married on July 19, 1975. They weren't the obvious match, but their love proved stronger than most—real, lasting, and full of life. They spent countless nights dancing under the stars to their favorite songs. Their love for one another never faded after being together for over 50 years and their lives were filled with memories worthy of a novel.

At a young age, Johnny discovered a love of music. He became an extraordinarily talented guitarist and singer who shared his gift with others throughout his life. Whether performing for friends and family or bringing joy to residents in nursing homes, his music left a lasting impression. Every Thursday, he could be found playing alongside his cousins who were like brothers to him, Darrell Hall and Ronald Denham, and close friends—a tradition filled with music, connection and wonderful memories.  As well as his love for his wife and music, Johnny was an avid fisherman and won many bass tournaments with his loyal fishing buddies.  He loved riding his Harley, enjoyed spending time in the woods and on the water, and had many loyal dogs throughout the years. Anyone who has ever met Johnny would easily remember him for his charismatic laugh and fun-loving personality. He had a way of making everyone feel at ease and welcome. He will be dearly missed by so many and never forgotten.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Terri Mae Brown Hall and nephew Marty Hall.

He is survived by his loving wife Lilian Maria Opiela Brown; sons, Richard Lee Stiles of San Diego, California, and Kevin Huffman of Lincoln, Arkansas; sister, Gerri Ann Brown; two grandchildren, David and Joe; three great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loyal friends.

A visitation will be held in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Friday morning, June 27, 2025, from 10:00 until 11:00 at which time the memorial service will begin.  Officiating the service will be Brother Bruce Gilmore.
