Johnny E. "Rooster" Potter, age 67, of Malvern, died Thursday, September 9, 2021, at his home.  He was born in Benton, Arkansas on December 14, 1953, to the late S. A. Potter and Bertha Neal Potter.  Reared and educated in Benton, he had been a resident of this area for three years.  Rooster was a truck driver by profession, and a rancher by avocation.  He raised cattle, and, if friends and neighbors ever needed assistance, he was there to bushhog, haul hay, or do anything else to help.  He was baptized at the Northside Church of Christ in Benton.  Rooster was a doting father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, enjoying nothing better than spoiling his "kids".  He was the loving husband of Beverly Kestner Potter, to whom he was married on January 29, 1972, in Benton.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of the home; by a son Wade Potter (Tonya), and a daughter, Donna Sanders, all of Malvern; by four grandchildren, Carmen Cooper, Charles "Little Man" Sanders II, Dakota "Cody" White, and Cecelia "Sissy" White; by two great-grandchildren, Cleve Cooper, II, and Clevon Cooper.

Rooster was also preceded in death by a brother, Willie F. Potter and a sister, Shirley Peeler.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from four until six o'clock.

Due to COVID-19, masks are required indoors.

Graveside services will be at two o'clock Friday afternoon, September 17, 2021, at Circle P Farms Cemetery, on Mr. Potter's property, 1752 Round Hill Road.
