Joyce Ann
Keenom
Mar 9, 1944 — Sep 28, 2023
Malvern
Joyce Ann Keenom, age 79 of Rolla, died Thursday, September 28, 2023, at her home. She was born on March 9, 1944, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Roy Homer Wright and Dora Etta Hogue Wright. She attended Hot Springs public schools, and later finished her course of study at Hot Springs Beauty College. Joyce was saved while attending Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church and was currently a member of Lono Missionary Baptist Church. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and Bible School and made puppets for devotionals. She was the widow of the late Claude Keenom, to whom she was married in 1961. He preceded her in death in 2018. Joyce was an accomplished seamstress: she knitted and did crochet, needle work, and cross stitch, etc. She sewed clothes for her daughters, their dolls, and even their dogs! Her eldest grandchild learned from her grandmother how to sew at an early age. Joyce loved deer hunting. She once shot a deer, and in the process, grazed the top of her husband's truck! She loved her entire family, of course, but had a special spot in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sarah Riggin (Dale) of Malvern, and Nancy Fendley of Rolla; grandsons, Chris Keenom (Ashley), Cory Fendley (Christian), and Tyler Riggin; brother, Larry Wright (Jane) of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Adrien Keenom; Alydia Keenom, Aubree Faith Keenom, Zeekiel Fendley, Nikoli Vaughn, Sky Vaughn, Hope Cooke and Naomi Cooke.
Joyce was also preceded in death by two brothers, C. P. Wright and Wayne Wright; and a great grandson, Ayden Keenom.
Her funeral will be at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, October 4, 2023, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Calvin Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Lono Cemetery.
A visitation will begin at one o'clock on Wednesday.
