Obituary

Judy Elizabeth Harris Young, age 65, passed away quietly on Thursday, August 2, 2018. She was born on January 19, 1953 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Melvin Carroll Harris and Mary Agnes Nutt Harris. She married her best friend, Tom Ross Young, Jr., on February 27, 1981. Together they owned and operated Young Real Estate for 26 years, successfully selling real estate until this past April. She and Tommy have also been faithful members of the First Presbyterian Church in Malvern since the beginning of their marriage.

Judy loved her family dearly. She was a devoted grandmother (Memmie) and did everything she could for her grandchildren. She also had a strong love for each dog that joined the family.

Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Tom Ross and Ruth Carrington Young, brothers Wayne Harris and Kenny Harris, and her beloved dogs, Greta and Cassie.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Young of Malvern; daughter Elizabeth Young Middleton (Chris); grandchildren, Gabrielle and Cooper; grand-dog, Coco, all of Bryant, Arkansas; step-children, Ross Young (Mindy) of Alto, Georgia, Will Young (Jayne), and Abby Young McKelvy (Damon) of Little Rock; step-grandchildren, Emma and Hank Young, Maddy and Fletcher McKelvy; sisters, Janie Waters of El Dorado, and Patsy Harris Norris (Tommy) of Denton, Texas; brothers-in-law, Cary Young (Pam) of White Hall, and Robert Young (Judy) of Bauxite; life-long best friend Cindy Amadee (Sid) of Elkins, Arkansas; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Crye-Leike Realtors Benton branch, Heather Grigsby, APRN, Nicole Draper Berry, Modern Care Medical, Dr. John Barr, the staff at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant, and their First Presbyterian Church family.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Shadowlawn Cemetery in Malvern with Reverend Courtney Bacon-Latina officiating, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home of Malvern.
