Obituary

Kathlyne "Kay" Louise Behrens Eldridge, age 97, of Cameron Park, California, died Monday, January 25, 2021.  She was born in Malvern, Arkansas on June 13, 1923.  The 97-year dash between 1923 and 2021 was a time of joy, hard work, accomplishment, love, sacrifice, service, dedication to the Lord, rest, and eternal joy.

Kay was widow of the late John Edward Eldridge, Sr., to whom she was married in January of 1941 in Malvern.  He preceded her in death on May 8, 2009.  They relocated to Long Beach shortly their marriage, and later to Stockton after John's service in WWII.  In 1955 John and Kay and John, Jr., and Judy moved to Sacramento and Kay started her many years of service working with CHP, the Department of Transportation, and in Governor Reagan's office before retiring.

Other family preceding Kay to heaven were her parents, her sister, Polly Gallagher, and her brother, Harry Behrens.  Those left to cherish her memory are her son, John Eldridge, Jr. (Gail); her daughter, Judy Eldridge Duerner (Gary); grandsons Ken Eldridge (Laura), Alan Eldridge (Laurie), Mark Duerner, sister-in-law Marti Behrens, three great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay loved the Lord more than anything/anyone else and was HIS good friend for all her life.

Her earthly body has been brought back to Arkansas and will be laid to rest next to John on the Eldridge family plot.  Her family will be unable to attend the service due to COVID-19 travel concerns. There will be a private committal at Fairplay Cemetery under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
