Larry Neal Neeley, age 74 of Malvern, died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 25, 1946 in Greenway, Arkansas to the late Jesse F. Neeley and Christine Johnson Neeley. Reared and educated in California, he had lived in Malvern for 30 years. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in Viet Nam. Mr. Neeley was a recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries he suffered in the war. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing cars. For most of his working life, he was an insurance salesman. He became adept at buying and flipping houses in later years. He was a faithful member of The Tabernacle of Praise church and was deeply involved in all aspects of worship.
Mr. Neeley leaves behind no immediate family, but close friends and his church family will miss him greatly.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 at one o'clock in the afternoon. Pastors Vernon and Doris Maupin will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
