Obituary

Laurie R. Hankins, age 68 of Malvern, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Little Rock.  She was born on October 5, 1954, in Morrison, Illinois to the late Delbert Redell and Audrey Schultz Redell.  She graduated high school in Highland Springs, Virginia, and later received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Henderson State University.  Laurie was a veteran of the Virginia National Guard and was involved in the 192 nd TAC Fighter Group.  She had been a resident of this area since 1984.  Laurie attended both the Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church.  She loved to go camping and fishing and watching college sports.

She is survived by a grandson, Ethan Hankins of Amity; two sisters, Victoria Cranford of Malvern, and Patricia Curtin of Burlington, North Carolina; and by a brother, Michael Redell (Patsy) of Virginia.

Laurie was also preceded in death by her son, Chris Hankins, and a brother, Sammy Lee Redell

A cryptside service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at one o'clock in the afternoon, at Pine Crest Mausoleum in Alexander, Arkansas under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
