Obituary

Lena Mae Dawson, age 88, of Malvern, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 in Little Rock. She was born on May 1, 1927 in Hot Spring County to the late Fred Garland Manning and Maggie Lee House Manning. She graduated high school at Central. Lena Mae was a beautician for many years and was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Carlton J. Dawson, to whom she was married on June 21, 1972.

Lena Mae is survived by two daughters, Monica Parker Roberts of Malvern, and her daughter, Jessica Lauren Roberts, both of Malvern, and Fran Parker of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and her children, Miranda Buchanan, Brian Jonathon Horne, John Mikel Parker, Casey Ryan Patterson, and Sharena Star Parker; and by five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janis Faye Parker, four brothers, Auvergene Manning, Sr., Ralph Manning, Jewel Manning, Lawrence Manning, and a step-brother, Lewis Clift; and a sister, Irene Clements.

Her funeral will be Saturday morning, September 12, 2015 at 10:30 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Donis Smead officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Blake Wingo, Clayton Manning, Richard Taft, John Dugan, Freddie Johnson, and Wade Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Ray Bollen and staff, and Lena Mae's caregivers, Jessica Lauren Roberts, Jennifer Lewis, John Jeffries, and Peggy Bailey.

Memorials are requested to Alzheimers Research.
