Obituary

Leon "Todd" Carstens, age 90 of Diamondhead Community near Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Saturday evening, December 6, 2008 at his home. He was born in Pewaukee, Wisconsin on August 4, 1918 to the late Daniel and Bertha Orleski Carstens. Reared and educated in Waukesha, Wisconsin, he had been an employee of the Waukesha School District for over 20 years, and prior to that had worked in shipping and receiving for 19 years at the Foxhead Brewery. Mr. Carstens was an avid pheasant hunter and loved the Green Bay Packers. A resident of this area since 1996, he was a member of the Diamondhead Community Church and the Diamondhead Men's Club. He was the husband of Agnes Kokan Carstens, to whom he was married on June 26, 1948 in Waukesha.

Other survivors include two sons, David Carstens of Diamondhead and his girlfriend Loretta Reiber of Little Rock, and Rick and his wife, Nona Carstens of Prescott Valley, Arizona; and by three grandchildren, Jason, Codi, and Carly Carstens.

Mr. Carstens was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

His memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at ten thirty o'clock in the morning in the sanctuary of the Diamondhead Community Church with Reverend Mike Fikes officiating and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Diamondhead Community Church.
