Lorene W. Green, 81 of Malvern, died Tuesday evening, November 17, 2009, at her home. She was born in the Reyburn Community in Hot Spring County on April 9, 1928 to the late Charles Fred and Jane Stiles Westerman. Reared and educated in Malvern, she was a retired bookkeeper. Lorene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid bridge player and loved to read. A longtime member of First United Methodist Church , she had attended the Alice Brooks Sunday School Class. Lorene was the wife of Joe Green, to whom she was married on July 17, 1948 in Malvern.Her survivors are her husband, Joe, of the home; one son, Mike and his wife Sheila Green of Hot Springs; two daughters, Marsha and her husband Larry Burris of Malvern, and Mona and her husband Rick Copeland of Maumelle, Arkansas; one sister Velvie Royal of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Michelle Hill, Sam Green, Amy Gambrell, Lindsey Thomas, Nicholas Copeland, Tami Green and Kelli Hernandez; fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Waymon Westerman.

Her funeral will be held at ten o'clock Friday morning, November 20, 2009 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with Dr. F. Gladwin Connell and Reverend LaVon Post officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery .

Pallbearers will be: Nicholas Copeland, Nathan Thomas, Sam Green, Keith Green, Jorge Hernandez, Wayne Hill, and Jason Gambrell.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Thursday evening from six until eight o'clock.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Malvern/Hot Spring County Library.
