Louis Murl Jordan , age 85, of the Central community, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in the St. Joseph 's Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs . He was born in Malvern on August 8, 1925 to the late Louis Lyle and Viola Elizabeth Smith Jordan. Reared in the Central community, he retired from the Natural Gas Pipeline after 33 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Murl was an avid gardener, loved to word search puzzles, and took great pride in his yard.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bray Jordan, to whom he was married on September 30, 1995; a daughter, Sallye Beth Jordan, of Cabot, Arkansas; a son Danny Jordan and his wife Kathy, of Benton; four grandchildren, Brittani Agent, Brad and his wife, Mika Jordan, Grant and Sarah Katherine Jordan; and one great-grandchild, Madison Jewell Agent.

Murl was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jewell Daniel Jordan, by a sister Margaret Ann Stiles, and by an infant brother.

His funeral will be at two o'clock Friday afternoon, November 26, 2010 at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Donis Smead officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 12:30 at the Church. Interment will follow in Ouachita Cemetery .

Pallbearers will be: Brad Jordan, Grant Jordan, Arlie Daniel, Gifford Green, Wendell Kratz, and Charles Spencer.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church .
