Louise McAtee, age 88 of Malvern, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 in the Arbor Oaks Nursing Home. She was born in the DeRoche Community on October 2, 1920 to the late Freeman and Mittie Treadway Wood. Reared and educated in Hot Spring County, she had lived in Hot Springs and Benton prior to moving to Malvern in 1995 to live with her niece, Alma Walker. During her working life she had been employed by Craighead Laundry in Hot Springs for a number of years and retired from the Arlington Hotel with 32 years of service.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Adams and Vera Keeton; and by two brothers, John Gordon Wood and Marshall Wood.

Mrs. McAtee is survived by her niece and caregiver Alma Jones Walker of Malvern, and Alma's children, Brandon Jones, Tiffany Rosales, and Stephanie Delezen; and by numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews including: Madelyn and Claire Jones, Sydney Rosales, Summer Delezen, Adam Rosales, Leslie Wood, Hancel, Wayne, and Bill Keeton, Will, James, and Richard Wood, Onita Carter, Carolyn Wilson, and Judy Ruth Wood; and her sisters-in-law, Ruthell, Daphane, and Justine Wood.

Her funeral will be held at ten o'clock Saturday morning, June 20, 2009 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Gary Gipson officiating.

Interment will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Benton .
