Mamie Garner Tubberville Freeman, age 85, of Malvern, died Tuesday afternoon, November 6, 2007, in the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was born in Hot Springs on April 28, 1922, the daughter of Jesse James and Ophelia Deaton Garner. Reared and educated in Hot Springs, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church. Mamie was the widow of the late Raymond Tubberville, who died in 1958, and the late Abner Freeman, who died in 2006. She was a loving mother and grandmother, was a wonderful cook, and loved flowers.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Horace and Ursula Tubberville of Germany, James Tubberville of Prattsville, Darrell Tubberville of Malvern, Michael and Carolyn Freeman of Gifford, Steve and Lisa Freeman of Springdale, Bruce and Jo Ann Freeman of Benton, Polly and George Wilson of Prattsville, and Norma and Tim Anderson of Hot Springs; by seven step-daughters; by a sister, Fern Roberts of Alpine; by one half-brother, O. J. Garner of Hot Springs; by three half-sisters, Ruby Rea, Christine Stoic, and Glenda Kellough, all of Hot Springs; by 31 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and numerous step-grand, step-great-grand, and step-great-great-grandchildren.

Mamie was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Tubberville, two sons, Wayne Tubberville, and Mitchell Freeman; by a brother, Flay Garner; by two sisters, Gladys Bean and Myrtle Taylor; and by two half-brothers, Gerald and James Garner.

Her funeral will be on Saturday morning, November 10, 2007, at ten o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Billy Thomason and Brother Billy Nash officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bower Cemetery in Bismarck.

Pallbearers will be: Raymond Wilson, Travis, Dusty, Chad, and Jeremy Freeman, Steven and John Anderson, and Jason Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Ferdinand Roda, the staff at Garland Rehabilitation Center, Scott Bennett, and Troy Norwood.

Visitation will be on Friday evening, November 9, 2007, from six until eight o'clock at the mortuary.

The family will be at the George and Polly Wilson residence in Prattsville.
