Obituary

Marcille Fitzhugh Stiles, age 84, died November 19, 2010 at the Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern. She was born at her home in Malvern on April 11, 1926 to the late Walter A. and Linnie Robbins Fitzhugh. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Malvern for 71 years where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and President of the Ladies Auxiliary. Marcille graduated from Malvern High School in 1944 and worked as a junior chemist for Reynolds Metals Company for 32 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed cooking and needlework, and loved making gifts for her friends and family. Her favorite joy was cooking for anyone and everyone. There was always something to eat when you entered Marcille's home.

She was the widow of Dewey D. Stiles to whom she was married on October 20, 1944. He preceded her in death March 9, 2001. Together they enjoyed going to the National Democratic Conventions in Chicago, Miami and New York. Their summer vacations were often spent in Florida with family and friends and special trips to Europe. Mrs. Stiles served on the Arkansas State Library Board under Bill Clinton and was a charter member of the Committee of 100 for the Ozark Folk Center.

She is survived by a son, Gary Stiles of Malvern, a daughter, Kay and her husband, Jim Hinkle of Mountain View, five grandchildren, Shane (Amy) Stiles of Malvern, Lea Ann (Al) Finn of Mountain View, Blake Stiles of Malvern, Brooke (Russ) Garner of Mountain Home and Katie (Shane) Henry of Conway, ten great-grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Cory and Chloe Stiles, Kaleb and Elizabeth Stiles, Hannah Walker, Ashlyn Garner, Adian Garner, Maddie Finn and Cooper Henry, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Marcille was also preceded in death by her son Ricky Stiles, two brothers Lloyd and Chester Fitzhugh and a sister, Dorothy Vantrease.

Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 20, 2010 at Second Baptist Church in Malvern. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Reynolds, Carlee Sheridan, Carl Robbins, Shane Stiles, Larry Tuggle, and Mike Fitzhugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Williams, Bill Robbins, Dewey Logan, Charles Mann, Dr. Joe Cloud, Dr. Randy Cloud, Leon Gray, Kenneth Bradley, Leon Turner, Farrell Richardson, Millard Armstrong, Dr. Bruce White, Dr. Bruce Burton and Dr. Dylan Thaxton.

Visitation will begin at one o'clock on Saturday November 20 prior to the service. Officiating will be Bro. Joey McDermott, Bro. Edgar Sutton and Dr. Morris Cloud. Funeral is under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church Building Fund.
