Mary Lee Nichols, age 78 of Poyen, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 in the Baptist Health Medical Center in Malvern. She was born in Malvern on March 2, 1936 to the late Walter Hicks and Lela Wilson Hicks. Reared and educated in Poyen, she was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Poyen Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Michael White of Poyen, two sons, Terry Nichols of Malvern, and Perry Nichols and his wife Carol of Prattsville; by six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nichols was also preceded in death by three siblings.

Her funeral will be at ten o'clock Saturday morning, January 10, 2015 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with David Lengefeld officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindsey-Poyen Cemetery.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, beginning at nine o'clock.

Pallbearers are: Steven Hicks, Aaron Hicks, Austin Hicks, Dustin Hicks, Ethan Nichols, Court Nichols, and Doug White.

Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Tracie Hicks, Donald Bates, and Dean Lowery.
