Mary C. Matis, age 96, of Malvern, died Sunday evening, August 26, 2012 at Malvern Nursing and Rehab. She was born on July 10, 1916 in Bridgeport , Connecticut to the late John Rogalinski and Catherine Pauchulczyn Rogalinski. Reared and educated in Bridgeport , she had been a resident of Malvern since 1995. At the beginning of World War 2, she was an inspector in a metal works factory. After her marriage to John Matis in 1941 she became a homemaker and seamstress. Her husband preceded her in death in 1966. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Malvern.

Survivors include her son, John Matis of Malvern, her daughter, Joyce Ouellette (Daniel) of Malvern, two grandsons, Daniel Ouellette (Tammy), and Jeff Ouellette; two great-grandsons, Charles Cole and Jeffrey Ouellette; and three great-granddaughters, Danielle Ouellette, Carissa Ouellette, and Shelby Ouellette.

Mrs. Matis was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters, and a granddaughter, Michelle Ouellette Cole.

Funeral mass will be at St. John the Baptist Church on Thursday morning, August 30, 2012 at ten o'clock with Father Babu as celebrant.

She will be transported to Milford , Connecticut for burial.
