Mary Louise Norwood, age 95 of Donaldson, Arkansas, passed from this life to enter her eternal life in heaven on Friday, October 6, 2023, in North Little Rock.  She went to be with her Heavenly Father, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her earthly family and friends who have gone there before her and have joyfully awaited her arrival, that they might spend eternity together in the most wonderful of all places: perfect at last! Louise was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Howard C. Norwood, daughter, Sandra Gay McGriff, her parents, Carl and Viola Davidson, little brother, Paul Davidson, and sister Carline Tugwell.

She is survived by a daughter, Gail DeSpain (Richard) of North Little Rock; a sister, Nancy Buckalew of Bullard, Texas; a brother, Edwin Davidson (Connie) of Buffalo, Texas; four grandchildren, Leslie Anne McGriff, Lance McGriff, Paul H. DeSpain, and Sgt. Richard N. DeSpain; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Louise was a devoted wife and mother to her husband, Howard, and children, Gay and Gail.  Family and home, especially Donaldson and Brush Creek, were in her heart.  Her neighbors were the very best and much appreciated. She was a member of Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church at Donaldson and enjoyed watching Sunday morning preaching on TV.

She worked a variety of different jobs through the years and was proud of her lifetime beautician's license.  She owned and operated Louise's Beauty Shop in Donaldson.  She had also worked a Bonette Beauty Shop and Lindvall's in Malvern as a beautician; was a house parent at the Arkadelphia Human Development Center; was a buyer for the kitchen at Riverwood Nursing Home in Arkadelphia; and was manager of the snack bar at Woolworth's in Pine Bluff.  She made work for herself in her home until near the very end of her life.

Louise will be missed until the appointed time for us to meet again.

Her funeral will be at one o'clock Thursday afternoon, October 12, 2023, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Rickey Poyner and Brother Ronnie Hardin officiating.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Donaldson.

A gathering of family, friends, and neighbors will occur at the family home, 5189 Hwy 51, Donaldson, immediately following the burial service.
