Mary Alyse Shuffield Winger, age 34, of Traskwood, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Alyse was born on September 1, 1992, in Little Rock to Cindy Kilmer Shuffield and the late Steven Wayne Shuffield. She was raised and received her early education in Glen Rose. She later became a licensed veterinary technician and worked in management at the Little Rock Zoo.

Alyse was an avid softball fan and enjoyed coaching teams. She loved the outdoors, painting, and spending time with her friends and family. Over the years, she fostered and rescued countless animals and was actively involved with Southern Hearts Animal Rescue in Bauxite, Arkansas. Alyse will be remembered for her friendly nature, generous heart, and deep love for animals.

Alyse is survived by her husband, Sonny Winger of Traskwood; her mother, Cindy Shuffield (Bruce Owens) of Benton; her grandfather, Jack Brickell; her sister, Courtney Steele (Adam) of Little Rock; her niece, Braelynn Steele, her nephews, Jordan, Javin, Whitleigh, Elijah, Wyatt, Briggs, Noah;  and her beloved fur babies, Harley, Siren, and Dobby.

A memorial service celebrating Alyse’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Memorials are requested to Southern Hearts Animal Rescue in Bauxite, Arkansas.
