Michael Roy Adams, age 62 of Avilla, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, July 20, 2015, with his loving family at his side. He was born on December 17, 1952 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to Dora Erhard Adams and the late Clarence Howard Adams. The child of a railroad man, he received his early education in many different places, due to his family's frequent moves up and down the railroad line. He graduated high school at Central High in Little Rock. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 27 years as conductor. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also loved to play golf, and was a member of the Silver Springs Country Club in Benton. He trained and showed Arabian horses for 30 years. Mike was a Saline County Constable from 2008-2010, and was an honorary deputy sheriff for Saline County. He was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. He has been an active fill-in preacher and Sunday School teacher for 20+ years. He loved the word of God and he loved the Lord..

He is survived by his wife, Susie Harvey Adams, to whom he was married on June 16, 1972 in Malvern; by his daughters, Heather Adams McKim (Mike) of Bryant, Ashley Adams Tackett (Eddie) of Bauxite, and Lindsay Adams Robinson (Raymond) of Alexander; his mother, Dora Adams of Bauxite; a brother, Gary Adams of Memphis; three sisters, Suzanna Osburn ( Charles) of Bigelow, Karan Stewart (Howard) of North Little Rock, and Debra Hanson (Chet) of Bauxite; eight grandchildren, Aaron and Ashlin Kizer, Trey McKim, Braden and Peyton Tackett, Austin, Dalis, and Anniston Robinson.

Visitation will be from six until eight o'clock Thursday evening, July 23, 2015 at United Missionary Baptist Church, 3810 Salem Road in Benton.

His funeral will be at ten o'clock Friday morning, July 24, 2015 at the church, with interment to follow in Rockport Cemetery in Malvern, under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Chet Hanson, Charlie Osburn, Michael Hanson, Aaron Kizer, Braden Tackett, and Kyle Ward.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Ralph Warren, Danny Campbell, Kenny Welch, Richard Sample, Richard Steed, Jim Bowers, Jesse Allen, Bobby Paxton, Jerry Fitts, and Clifton Sheridan.
