Michael G. Taylor, age 65 of Malvern, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in West Helena.  He was born in Malvern on April 5, 1958, to the late George "Buddy" Taylor and Bettye Lipe Taylor.  Reared and receiving his early education in Malvern, he graduated from Malvern High School with the class of 1976.  A talented musician, Mike and his bandmates travelled extensively over the U.S.A. and played countless gigs for over 25 years.  After the tragic death of his brother, Tim in 2002, Mike felt compelled to take his life in a new direction: that of service to others in their time of grief.  So, he followed his heart and entered the death care industry, becoming a licensed embalmer and funeral director.  In just a few short years, he developed the knowledge, passion, and sensitivity needed to become the manager of a local funeral home.  At the time of his death, Mike was manager for the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena, Arkansas.  All who ever worked professionally with him are feeling a profound loss.  He was a true friend and confidant to many and kept his friends and family close to his heart.  Mike was the husband of the former Helen Cantrell, and the two of them had been partners for 23 years.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; his son, Mitchell Taylor; by his daughter Jessie Caudill (Donny), all of Hot Springs; his stepson, Dalton; grandchildren, T. J. Taylor-Caudill, Emma Caudill, and Amelia Taylor; his uncle, John Lipe (Eileen) of Colorado; his cousins, Jack and John Lipe, and Shari Sherman and Stephanie Sherman.

Mike's funeral will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday morning, July 29, 2023, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Scott Efird officiating, and his friend Randy Dugger delivering the eulogy.

The staff of Roller Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, Arkansas, will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

A visitation will precede the service by one hour, beginning at ten o'clock.
