Muriel Dean Carter Toler, age 86, passed away on April 26, 2022.  She was born in Little Rock on October 26, 1935, to Edgar Burt and Evelyn Marie Carter.  She was the eldest of three daughters.  The family moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1949 where Muriel met her husband to be, James "Jim" Curtis Toler, while attending the University of Arkansas.  She earned a degree in social welfare in 1957.  Upon graduation, she and Jim were Married.  They had two children, a daughter, Tammy Carolyn Toler, and a son, Tedd Curtis Toler.  Muriel was a devoted and dedicated homemaker.  Jim and Muriel were happily married for 65 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother, Edgar Burt, Jr.  She is survived by her husband, Jim; her two children, Tammy and Tedd; her daughter-in-law, Julie Overton Toler; two sisters, Peggy Carter and Betty McFarland; her brother-in-law, Nat McFarland; and her granddaughter and her husband, Caitlin and Brian Burch.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 on Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2022, at Brush Creek Cemetery near Leola, with Reverend Troy Conrad officiating, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
