Obituary

Nedra W. Garner, age 81 of Malvern, died Tuesday evening, March 15, 2016. She was born on February 2, 1935 in Cleveland County, Arkansas to the late Dalton Childers and Mary Edwards Childers. Reared and educated in Kingsland, Arkansas, she retired from the Department of Human Services. She had also worked for Curtis Mathis and National Rejectors. She was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed going fishing. Mrs. Garner was a member of the Anchor Baptist Church at Brown Springs.

She is survived by her husband, James A. Garner, to whom she was married on August 31, 1952 in Cullendale, Arkansas; by a daughter, Pamela Davies of Bryant; a sister, June Haines of Hot Springs; a grandson, Jeffrey Davies (April) of Conway; and by eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Garner was also preceded in death by her son, James David Garner, a grandson, Tommy Davies, and her son-in-law, Billy Davies.

Graveside services will be Friday, March 18, 2016 at two o'clock in the Kennedy Cemetery near Farindale, Arkansas (Cleveland County) with Brother Caleb Lewis officiating and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home of Malvern.

Memorials may be made to Anchor Baptist Church, Brown Springs, Arkansas.
