Norma Cotten
Greer
Jan 14, 1934 — May 24, 2022
Norma Cotten Greer, age 88, formerly of Malvern, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022, in Batesville, Arkansas. She was born on January 14, 1934, in Malvern to the late Homer E. Cotton and Elsie Hicks Cotton. Reared and educated in Malvern, she attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. Norma was the widow of the late Gerald Greer, to whom she was married on July 4, 1954. He preceded her in death in 1999. Norma loved antiques. There is a (full) 40' by 60' storage building at her daughter's residence that attests to her fondness for old, pretty glassware and knick-knacks. Norma also loved to crochet and make quilts and was a wonderful cook.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Sonia Greer Nix and her husband, Harold, of Newark, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Matthew Nix and Justin Pierce; five great-grandchildren, Bella, Lilly, Evan, Breanna, and Max; a half-brother, Bubba Cotton; two half-sisters, Evelyn Breazeale and Priscilla Trudell; her brother-in-law, Donald Collins; two nephews, Don Collins and Vernon Collins; and two nieces, Sandra Cotton Brooks and Carolyn (KK) Collins Dybalski; and by her stepmother, Doris Cunningham.
Norma was also preceded in death by her grandson, Marcus Nix; two siblings, Libby Collins and Gene Cotton; and a nephew, Philip Cotton.
The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from twelve noon until one-thirty, followed by a graveside service at two o'clock in Oak Ridge Cemetery officiated by Reverend Danny Dunlap.
The family expresses their gratitude to the hospice team in Batesville, especially to Alicia Bumpous, RN.
