Obituary

Norman E. Crouse, age 82 of Hot Springs , died early Tuesday morning, June 23, 2009 in the Quapaw Care and Rehab Center in Hot Springs . He was born on June 5, 1927 in Eudora , Arkansas to the late Houston and Lois Opal Pierce Crouse. Reared and educated in the Central Community south of Malvern, he later attended Little Rock University (now U of A at Little Rock ). He was a US Navy veteran of World War 2, having served in the Pacific Theatre and with the occupation forces in Japan . During most of his working life he was a manufacturing supervisor with Arkansas Container Corporation. In his leisure time, he loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Crouse was a member of First Baptist Church in Hot Springs .

He is survived by his wife, Louise Lee Crouse, to whom he was married on April 20, 1950 in Malvern; by three sons, Reggie and his wife Elaine Crouse of Little Rock, Mike Crouse of Benton, and Kevin and his wife Mary Crouse of Houston, Texas; by a sister, Beth Cartwright and her husband William of North Little Rock; by two step-brothers, Adrian Livingston of Malvern, and Gaylon Livingston of Hot Springs; by two grandchildren, Sara Crouse and Jeremy Crouse.

His funeral will be on Thursday morning, June 25, 2009, at ten o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Reverend John McCallum officiating.

Interment will follow in Ouachita Cemetery .A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from five until seven o'clock.

Memorials may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church , Hot Springs .
