Otis H. Estes, Jr, age 84 of Hot Springs, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.  He was born in Malvern on April 17, 1939 to the late Otis Estes, Sr. and Ellen Kimzey Estes.  Reared and receiving his early education in Arkadelphia, he later graduated Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in chemical engineering.  Early in his career he worked in the oil fields for Petrolite.  Later on he became a licensed massage therapist, ultimately becoming an instructor.  He had been a member of the Arkansas National Guard.  Mr. Estes was a Methodist.

He is survived by two daughters, Jolie Estes of Texas, and Mary Elizabeth Dilbeck of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mary Joe Estes of Hot Springs, and Patricia Carolyn Whitten of Florida; four grandchildren and two great-granchildren.

Mr. Estes was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Lorene Schalchlin and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Schalchlin.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Malvern on Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, at eleven o'clock.
