On February 17, 2016, Patricia Rose Lackey of Sanger, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on December 18, 1941 in Malvern and was raised by her maternal grandparents, Charles S. and Hester R. Smith. She attended Malvern public schools and graduated in the class of 1959. She also attended Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Little Rock before marrying her high school sweetheart, Curtis Eugene Lackey on June 18, 1960. They were happily married for 55 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sanger, Texas, was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and the Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association, for which she served as secretary for three years. Patricia loved her horses and was active showing and sponsoring many youth exhibitors over the past fifteen years with her golden palomino horses.

Other than her maternal grandparents, she was also preceded in death by her mother, Rose Smith Morrison Cooper, and a brother, Charles Weldon Cooper.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Curtis Eugene Lackey of Sanger, Texas; three children, Scott Allen Lackey of Springdale, Arkansas, Steven Austin Lackey and his wife Christy of Krum, Texas, and Tana Michelle Lackey of Bossier City, Louisiana; three grandsons, Curtis James Lackey of Northwest Arkansas, Steven Austin Lackey, Jr., and Daniel Cole Lackey, both of Krum, Texas, a half-sister Carol Cooper Baker of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a half-brother, Jon Kenneth Morrison and wife Shonda, two nephews, Calder Jay Morrison and Tanner Morrison of Montana.

Graveside service will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, February 20, 2016 on the family plot in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Brother Jon Horton officiating, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
