Pete Paladino, age 91, of Malvern, died Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the local hospital.  He was born in Conway, Arkansas on July 10, 1930 to the late Peter G. Paladino and Eda Moser Paladino.  Reared and receiving his early education in Conway, he later graduated from what is now the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Central Arkansas University in Conway.  Pete joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Alaska, where he received training as a fighter pilot.  Pete worked for AP &L (now Entergy), in marketing, and ultimately retired as a District Manager.  Moving to Malvern in 1975, he was urged by the president of Malvern National Bank, Floyd Parker, to come out of retirement and work in marketing and promotion at the bank.  He ended up staying with MNB for over 20 years.  Pete was an avid golfer, and was quite good.  He played well into his 80's as a member of the Malvern Country Club.  A very civic minded person, he was a member and past president of the Malvern Chamber of Commerce, and the Malvern Lions Club.  Some of the boards on which he served as member/chair are: Ouachita Technical College, Central Arkansas Development Council, Work Force Investment Board, West Central Arkansas Planning and Development, Hot Spring County Industrial Development Commission, and the City of Malvern Revolving Loan Fund.  Pete married his sweetheart, the former Dorothea Frolik, on July 21, 1956 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, a union lasting 65 years.  He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Malvern.

He is survived by his wife, Dot, of Malvern; by his daughter, Kim Strenkowski (Geoff Galvan) of Katy, Texas; and by two grandchildren, Peter and Andy Strenkowski.

Pete was also preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Tom, Joe, and Rocky; and a sister, Mary Louise Sprick.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon, March 10, 2022, at two o'clock, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Father Samy officiating.  Private entombment will be in Rockport Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
