Obituary

Phillip Glenn Schlenker, age 63, of Malvern, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, in the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. He was born in Malvern on June 15, 1947 to the late Glen C. and Ruth Behrens Schlenker. Reared and receiving his early education in Malvern, he later attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas, (now UCA). Phil was a musician and had worked in sales for the auto parts industry. He was a Presbyterian by denomination. A United States Army veteran, Phil served his country during the Viet Nam War.

He is survived by a son, Greg Schlenker of Oklahoma; by two brothers, John Schlenker of Malvern, and David Schlenker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and by a grandson, Coby Schlenker, also of Oklahoma.

A visitation will be held at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Friday evening, November 12, 2010, from seven until eight o'clock.

Graveside services will be at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 13, 2010, in the Harp Cemetery with Reverend Carl McCormack officiating.

The family wishes to thank the ER staff and the ICU staff at Saline Memorial Hospital, Russell Burton, MD, and the pharmacists at Westside Pharmacy for their attention and compassion.
