Phillip Ray West, age 52 of Jacksonville, Arkansas, formerly of Malvern, died Friday, June 17, 2016 in Little Rock. He was born on July 11, 1963 in Malvern to the late James A. West and Bobbie Greeno West. Reared and educated in Malvern, he was the longtime owner/operator of Phil's Floor Service. In his work, he could do anything: sheetrock finishing, texturizing walls and ceilings, laying tile, carpet, and hardwood. He was a perfectionist, and if he had a rush job, he and his crew would stay until the wee hours getting it done, and done right. Phil was a "tinkerer", and loved to go fishing. He attended New Life Church in Cabot.

He leaves behind his wife, Karon Wilson West, to whom he was married on August 26, 1994; a daughter, Amy Christian and her husband, Will of Jacksonville, a son, Patrick West and his wife Destiny of Malvern; a brother, James West and his wife Beverly of Midway; two grandchildren, Desiree Williams and Lyric West; and by his loving, faithful dog, Rusty.

Phil was also preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie West, and a sister, Barbara West Lowry.

Visitation will be Monday evening, June 20, 2016 from six until eight o'clock at J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

His funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at one-thirty in the funeral home chapel with longtime friend and Pastor Bert Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Cemetery, Hot Springs.

Pallbearers: James West, Michaiel Young, Mark Romine, Will Christian, Keith Starkey, and Patrick West.

The family will be at the Michael and Carolyn Freeman residence, 161 Wine Dot Road, Malvern.
