Ray Seaman, age 57 of Poyen, died Monday afternoon, February 7, 2011 in the Arbor Oaks Healthcare Center in Malvern. He was born on April 21, 1953 in England , Arkansas to the former Velma Spradlin and the late Edgar Seaman. Reared and educated in Little Rock , he was a former service worker for the Pulaski County Road and Bridge Department. Mr. Seaman was a Pentecostal by denomination, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a former resident of Scott , Arkansas , having moved to Poyen a year ago.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Hooper Seaman of Poyen, to whom he was married on May 28, 1993 in Roland, Arkansas; by a son, Chris and his wife, Jess Seaman of Bigelow; by a daughter, Kim and her husband Chuck McAllister of Poyen; by his mother, Velma Roberts of the Hardin Community; by his sister, Helen Heird of White Hall; by five brothers, Bud Hurst of Tennessee, Gene Lawson of Cabot, Ray Roberts of Hardin, Allen Roberts of Redfield, and Gene Crook of California; and by four grandchildren, Taylor Anderson, Dana, Stephanie, and Travis Seaman.

He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Bobbie King Seaman, and by two sisters, Robin Blair and Dollie Lamb.

His funeral will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday morning, February 12, 2011 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother O. D. Crabtree officiating. A visitation will precede the service beginning at ten o'clock.

The family has chosen cremation as the final disposition. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 333 Executive Ct., Suite 205, Little Rock, AR 72205.
