Richard E. Lindstrom, Jr. age 61 of Malvern, died Tuesday evening, May 15, 2012 in the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock . He was born on December 6, 1950 on Oahu , Hawaii to the late Richard E. Lindstrom, Sr. and Gloria Larson Lindstrom. Reared and receiving his early education in Hawaii , he attended high school in Illinois . Richard served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a brick/stone mason and had worked in waste management for American Composting. Richard was a life member of the Wisconsin VFW, an honorary member of the Malvern VFW, served on the board of the Hot Spring County Literacy Council, and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Hot Springs .

He is survived by his wife Vickie McNees of Malvern, to whom he was married on March 11, 2012; two daughters, Jamie Gearig of Arizona and Gloria Lindstrom of Wisconsin; a son, Richard E. Lindstrom, III of Wisconsin; two sisters, Vicki Swanson of Alaska and Barbara Russell of Illinois; two brothers, Eric Lindstrom and Kurtis Lindstrom, both of Wisconsin; and one grandchild, Brayden Gearig.

Memorial service will be Saturday, May 19, 2012 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Pastor John Odna officiating.

After the memorial service, there will be a bike run (cars welcome) to Hot Springs Mountain , one of Richard's favorite places.
