Obituary

William Roy Brandon, age 78 of Malvern, died Tuesday, July 07, 2015. He was born on May 1, 1937 in Crofton, Kentucky to the late Walter Brandon and Louise Brown Brandon. Moving to Arkansas with his family at the age of nine years, he received his early education in the Poyen schools. Roy served in the Arkansas National Guard, and was in the group that was federalized during the 1957 crisis in Little Rock. He worked for Acme Brick for 25 years. Roy was a plumber and worked many years for Stoecker Plumbing and then for Wingo Plumbing. He was a member of Third Baptist Church. Roy was the widower of the late Hazel "Peggy" Dorris Brandon, to whom he was married on July 2, 1957. She preceded him in death in January of this year.

He is survived by a daughter, RoyLynne "Bubbles" Brandon, and by a host of friends.

Roy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Brandon, and by his brothers and sisters, James, Kenneth, Wayne, Doris, and Virginia.

His funeral will be held at ten o'clock Friday morning, July 10, 2015, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Elder Neil Phelan officiating. Interment will follow in Rockport Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Brandon, Joe Bittles, Bill Keith, Jerry Strother, Dylan Briner, and Kenny Brandon.

Honorary pallbearers are: The staff at Modern Care Medical, Dr. Purifoy and staff, Hot Spring County Health Department Home Health, Margaret Herrington, Marilyn Phelan, Jan Keith, Phala Strother, and Randy Strother.
