Sandra S. Hicks, age 76 of Malvern, died early Sunday morning, March 25, 2018 at Baptist Health Medical Center-Hot Spring County. She was born in Harrison, Arkansas on May 10, 1941, the youngest of ten children, to the late Floyd Sparks and Noma Hensley Sparks. Reared and educated in Boone County, she had been a resident of Malvern since 1974. She was the widow of the late Joe Hicks, to whom she was married on August 15, 1966 in Harrison. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2017. Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to cook for her family, and would prepare delicious meals. Sandra was a Baptist by denomination.

Her survivors include her children, Joe Hicks, Jr., and his wife, Tricia of Hot Springs, and Diane Austin, and her husband, Steve of Poyen; four grandchildren, Jeff Austin (Katie), Jaci Alston (Caleb), Zach Hicks, and Zoie Hicks; five great-grandchildren, Zane Austin, Luke Austin, Joseph Miller, Driver Austin, and Emery Alston; twin sisters, Nell Riggans of Bellefonte, Arkansas, and Dell Martin of Marshall.

Sandra was also preceded in death by one brother and six sisters.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, March 29, 2018 from five until seven o'clock.

Her funeral will be at eleven o'clock Thursday morning in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Danny Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Mark Bergen, Bill Douglas, Caleb Alston, Zane Austin, Luke Austin, and Jeff Austin.

Memorials are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
