Sharleen Manning, age 75, of Gifford, died Tuesday afternoon, April 21, 2009, in the Hot Spring County Medical Center. She was born in Norphlet, Arkansas on December 24, 1933 to the late Emmett and Eddie Lee Ballard McCormack. She moved with her family to Malvern at the age of eleven and was educated in the Malvern Public Schools. During her working life Sharleen was employed at Woolco in Little Rock and at the Blue Ribbon Shoe Store here in Malvern. She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Clayton Manning, to whom she was married on April 30, 1982 in Little Rock; by her children, Garry and his wife Marilyn Stone of Glen Rose, Vickie Stone Williamson and her husband David of Malvern, Adam Manning and his wife Melissa of Gifford, Pete Manning and his wife Liz of Chesterfield, South Carolina, Vickie Self and her husband Alan of Gifford, Brenda Overton and Ruth Clift, also of Gifford; by a brother, Gene (Mickey) McCormack of Malvern; three sisters, Geneva George of Naples, Florida, Claudia Prier of Lowery City, Missouri, and Peggy Aleshire of Benton; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and an uncle, Roy Ballard of Mineola, Texas.

Sharleen was also preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Lawanda Laskaris.

A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, April 24, 2009 at ten o'clock in the Francois Cemetery with Dr. W. A. Dillard and Brother John Chandler officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Evan Williamson, Tyler Mantooth, Justin Manning, Billy Trammel, Jacob Overton, Danny Kay, and Butch Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Shawn Purifoy and Dr. Bruce Burton.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Thursday evening from six until eight o'clock.

Memorials are requested to the HSC Medical Center Foundation for the purchase and upkeep of a Bi-Pap Vision respiration machine.

The family expresses their appreciation to the ICU nurses and staff at HSCMC for the care given to Sharleen.
