Stephen Blake Staples, age 73 of Hot Springs, passed away at his home on October 25, 2025, surrounded with love from family and friends after a brave battle against cancer.  He was born in Little Rock on September 24, 1952, to the late Eugene Staples and Mary Trickey Staples.  He grew up attending school in Camden and Pine Bluff, and graduated from Sylvan Hills High School.  He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Arkansas.  Steve was an entrepreneur.  His daughter, Diane, when she was little, told people her daddy "fixed things and helped people". True.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Overton Staples, to whom he was married on November 1, 1974 in Little Rock; his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and William Lafferty; two grandchildren, Mallory and Levi; two brothers, Greg Staples (Joanne) of Cabot and Ricky Staples (Teresa) of Sherwood; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Special thanks go to his classmates, fellow modelers, and church family, for prayers and support this year.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 Tuesday morning, October 28, 2025, followed by a memorial service at 11:00, both at Lake Hamilton Baptist Church, 5963 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, AR 71913, with Dr. Charles DeVane officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lake Hamilton Baptist Church.
