Richard Stephen Strauss, age 80 of Malvern, died Wednesday, April 1, 2026 in Hot Springs.  He was born in Malvern on May 31, 1945 to the late Thomas Jackson Strauss and Kathryn Heath Strauss.  Reared and receiving his early education in Malvern, he later earned his bachelor's degree in Missouri.  For 35 years, Stephen lived and worked in Bremerton, Washington as a civilian employee of the United States Navy.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Malvern.

He is survived by his brother, John Anthony "Tony" Strauss of Malvern; and by cousins, Scott Strauss, Ed Strauss, IV, Linda Watson, Danny Watson, Betty Teague, Greg Thornton, Margaret Fleming, and Susan Payne.

His funeral will be on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2:00 in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Courtney Bacon-Latina officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Pat Watkins, Mike Cash, Barry Copeland, Duffy Gage, Ron Latina, and Ed Strauss.

A visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1:00.

Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
