Thomas H. "Tommy" Ewing, age 72 of Benton, died Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at his home. He was born on November 6, 1950, in Malvern to the late Truman E. Ewing and Cora Lee Otts Ewing. Reared and receiving his early education in Malvern, he later received his Associate Degree in Business from Vincennes University. Tommy was a member of the Arkansas National Guard for over 25 years, 20 years of that working as SSGT in ammo inventory at Camp Robinson. Tommy was a musician, playing the drums for several different bands. Some of the venues in which he played were Eureka Springs and Pidgeon Forge, Tennessee. He was also a professional floor covering technician. Tommy was a member of Woodland Hills Christian Academy.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Zumbrunnen Ewing of the home; his son, Travis Ewing (Chasity) of Benton; a granddaughter, Annabelle Ewing; his sister, Janie Ewing Samons of Malvern; two nieces, Jennifer Miller and Deanna Terry; two great-nieces, Amythyst Waldron and Cierra Baker; a great-great-nephew, August Waldron; two special nephews, Jarred Wright and Milo Wright; and his special friend of 60+ years, Eugene Beasley (Dottie).
His funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2022, at two o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Delton Gibbs officiating. Interment will follow in Fairplay Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Earnie Wright, Jarred Wright, Adam Singer, Travis Ewing, Christopher Wright, and Bobby Otts.
Honorary pallbearers are Randy Murberger and Mike Rimmer.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.
