W. S. Cagle, age 86 of Malvern, died Friday, August 2, 2024 at Encore Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Curtis, Arkansas on January 9, 1938 to the late Wallace Jackson Cagle and Opal Marie Dawson Cagle. He graduated from Magnet Cove High School with the class of 1956. W. S. was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. For a number of years, W. S. worked as construction foreman for James L. Scott Builders, and later in his career was production foreman for Precision Industries in Malvern. W. S. had been a member of the Hot Spring County Sheriff's Patrol. He was an avid fisherman, and loved to cook and share his delicious baked goods with others. He was the husband of Frances Slocum Cagle, to whom he was married on August 19, 1961 in Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; by his son, James Cagle and his wife, Angela, of Malvern; his daughter, Cheryl Bunch and her husband, Pat of Arkadelphia; grandchildren, Kristen Cagle, Nathaniel Cagle (Sandy), Amy Vandergriff, Wesley Vandergriff (Maria); great-grandchild, Briyn Cagle; niece and nephews, Monique Watts, Sean Watts, and Dave Henderson.
W. S. was also preceded in death by a sister, Annette Arthur.
Graveside service will be held at ten o'clock Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024, in Rockport Cemetery under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
