Obituary

Willia "Willie" Mae Honold age 95 of Malvern, died early Monday morning, October 28, 2024 at Encore Health Care and Rehab.  She was born in Malvern on March 4, 1929 to the late L. W. "Buster" Spencer and Etta Mae Jarrell Spencer. Reared and educated in Malvern, she lived in California for 35 years. While in California, she worked in the payroll department for the Long Beach Shipyards, and also for Harbor Boat Marine.  She returned to Malvern in the early 1970's, where she owned and operated an antique shop for many years.  She loved to sew, and made beautiful lampshades, which were in high demand with her clientele. Willia was chairperson of the "Teddy Bear Project", a group that made and delivered teddy bears to sick children in the hospital.  Willia attended First Baptist Church, Malvern, and was a member of the Ruth Sunday School class.  She was the widow of the late James Doyle Honold, Sr., to whom she was married on February 17, 1945.  He preceded her in death on October 31, 2006.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Meagan Honold Tucker (Brian), James P. Honold (Lisa), Brandon Honold (Angel), and Chris Honold (Victoria); by 12 great-grandchildren, Heather, Dylan, Lauren, Luke, Collier, Madeline, Abigail, Addison, Emily, Landon, Jamison, and Autumn; two great-great-grandchildren, Anistyn and Rhett; her sisters, Nora Faye Clift and Henrietta Clayton, both of Malvern; and by daughters-in-law, Karen Honold of Hot Springs, and Miriam Honold of Malvern.

Willia was also preceded in death by two sons, James "Jim" Doyle Honold, Jr. and Dennis Honold; three brothers, Louis "Dink", Bob, and George Spencer; and by a great-grandchild, Jacob Kennedy.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Friday evening, November 1, 2024, from six until eight o'clock.

Her funeral will be held in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Saturday morning, November 2, 2024, at ten o'clock. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Chris Honold, Jim Honold, Brandon Honold, Brian Tucker, Collier Honold, and Scott Spencer.
