William "Bill" Stanley, age 62 of Malvern, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in Little Rock. He was born on September 24, 1946 in Malvern to the late Woodrow and Marie Peevehouse Stanley. A lifelong resident of Malvern, he was a roofer, having worked for years for the Kidder family. He also co-owned his own roofing company. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved to watch his grandkids play football and baseball. He was a member of Third Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Freeman Stanley, to whom he was married on June 29, 1966. He also leaves behind a son, Mark and his wife Pamela Stanley of Magnet Cove; by his daughters, Kellie Kehner and her husband Mark of Magnet Cove, and Angela Hughes and her husband Brandon of Bismarck; a brother, James Marvin Stanley; five sisters, Frances Jane Layman, Ethel Nix, Glenda Thompson, Ann Stacy and her husband Larry, and Linda Martin and her husband Carroll, all of Malvern; six grandchildren, Justin and Blake Stanley, Colten Hughes, and Steven, Austin, and Payton Kehner; by his sisters-in-law, Virginia Norwood, Geneva Graham, Wilma Nash, Glenda Dawkins, and Shirley Siratt; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lloyd Wayne Stanley, Harold Brent Stanley, Charles Dewayne Stanley, and Donald Woodrow Stanley; and by a sister Jean Marie Stanley.

His funeral will be Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2009, at two o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Goodnight officiating. Interment will follow in the Ouachita Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Shane "Puddin" Scott, Jason Clements, Randy and Jerry Norwood, B. J. and Franky Stevens, Chad Williams, and Robert "Cooter" Kehner.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Ray Bollen, Howard Kemp, Sanford Graham, George Kidder, William Franklyn, and J. L. Kemp.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Friday evening from six until eight o'clock.
